Taking advantage of a new surge in online betting, the Ontario Harness Horse Association’s objectives were simple, make harness racing more accessible to the 18-34 market whilst generating awareness of the fun and simplicity in betting at the 16 harness race tracks in Ontario.

In order to bring people to the track, we needed to educate them on racing and betting before they arrived at the race course.

The goal of was to create a website and online experience that entertained and educated at the same time.

In a fun interactive manner our goal was to explain how to bet and what kind of betting is available at the track.

I started by creating a colourful cast of characters, each with a specific personality. These characters helped the user reveal the the inner workings of harness racing.

The site allowed users to practice betting on randomized races and follow the characters on Facebook and YouTube to gain extra tips, advice and information on the latest promotions and events at local tracks across Ontario.

The game engine was based on real odds. Once the player had completed all the levels of betting, they were entered into the draw to win a night of betting worth up to $10,000.
